This week’s featured home, 6037 Brookridge Court, offers many of the amenities sought after in a newly constructed home: an open floor plan, single-story living and a luxurious master suite.

The homes located in the Edgebrook community, however, offer a little something extra: a 15-year tax abatement on the home.

That “something extra” can save homeowners thousands of dollars over the next decade and a half, said builder David Schmitt, and this savings could total $2,500 to $3,000 per year.

This week’s featured home is a gem. The stone and vinyl siding is offset by the soldier coursing frame of the villa’s front window. A poured concrete walkway curves up to the white, side lighted front door. Once inside, an oak hardwood flooring in the foyer gleams below the brushed nickel chandelier.

Two of the home’s bedrooms are accessible to the right of the entrance. Each room features its own double closet and is located adjacent to a full bath.

Situated just ahead of the foyer is the guest closet and entry to the home’s great room. Ten-foot ceilings and a wall of windows creates spacious ambiance, while a gas fireplace – complete with a white wood mantle accented with dentil molding, marble surround and raised hearth – anchor the room and adds a touch of elegance.

The open floor plan is accentuated here as the kitchen and dining area open to the great room.

Vinyl flooring creates a tumbled stone look throughout the space and the generously proportioned dining room boasts plenty of room for entertaining family and friends. The dining area is further served by the kitchen’s peninsula-style snack bar, which conveniently bridges preparation and serving areas. A glass door from the dining room leads to the poured concrete patio, which will make

    outdoor grilling a breeze.

The kitchen boasts ample counter space. The maple cupboards are highlighted by a porcelain glaze and shine beneath the granite-look laminate countertops. Stainless appliances coordinate with brushed nickel hardware and recessed lighting provides illumination throughout the kitchen and dining area.

A pocket door at the back of the kitchen opens to the laundry room/mudroom. Entry to the villa’s two-car garage is positioned here and features a pull-down staircase to plentiful attic storage.

The home’s master suite is located down the short hall that sits adjacent to the home’s great room. A deep tray ceiling adorns the space while a lighted ceiling fan lends a romantic air. The suite is completed by its own full bath, which features its own maple double vanity accented by a cultured marble top, while the room’s step-in shower boasts a seat and grab bar. A large walk-in closet is also located in this space.

Conveniently located near Kroger and Walmart, Edgebrook Villas are easily accessible to I-475 and US23. Lawn care, snow removal and leaf pick-up are provided by the community’s homeowners’ association for only $100 a month, which gives homeowners more time to enjoy the many amenities each new home provides. •
