Description: Adelante Cinco De Mayo 5K and 1 mile Fun Walk

Adelante, the Latino Resource Center will be conducting its 2nd Annual 5K run and 1 mile fun walk on Sunday, May 1, 2016. This is the only Latino themed 5k in the Toledo area. All monies raised from the “Cinco de Mayo 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk” will support the ongoing programs and social services at Adelante.

The 5k and Fun Walk will be held at Pearson Metropark in Oregon, Ohio. Rain or shine, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a race start time at 10:00 a.m. The tax-deductible registration fee for the 5k is $25 and $15 for the 1 mile fun walk. As an incentive, the first 50 people to sign up will receive an exclusive Adelante race t-shirt.

Maxwell Meyers Memorial Golf Classic AND Mutt Strut

Description: This year's Maxwell Meyers Memorial Golf Classic has something for everyone.

The day starts with a Mutt Strut at 8:00 am (registration at 7:30 am). Enjoy Coffee and Breakfast Treats either before or after your walk. You may either walk with your dog or without for a $20 donation ($25 day of event).

Registration for Golf Classic begins at 10:00 am and the shot-gun start scramble begins at 11:00 am.

Be sure to stick around for Yappy Hour and Beer Tasting at approximately 4:00 pm. Non-golfers are invited to purchase tickets for the Yappy Hour too.

Description: The series' Open Mic component provides an encouraging space for novices and veterans alike to explore the world of poetry. Sign-up for a 5 minute time slot starts at 6:30pm and ends at 6:50pm (late arrivals will not be permitted to read). Time limits will be strictly enforced (to be fair to all). Lewd lyrics, profanity or strong sexual content are not allowed during poetry performances. The Poetry Speaks series is FREE, open to all ages and no registration is required.
