Wins Orange Crate Race. Elmore, OH August 31, 1953 A feature of the Elmore Homecoming held over the weekend was the Orange Crate Derby held for the community's younger set. All racers were powered by gravity on an inclined course of an Elmore side street. Crossing the finish line first in one of the heats is Mike Hensel, Genoa, who placed fourth in the final standings. Trailing the leader are Jan Stucky, Oak Harbor and Linden Damschroder, Elmore. Hensel finished fifth in last year's race held over the same course. Toledo Blade staff photo dated August 31, 1953
