James M. "Jimmy" Snetz -

James M. "Jimmy" Snetz
James "Jimmy" M. Snetz, affectionately known as "Catfish," passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 31, 2026, at the age of 88.
Jimmy was born on August 15, 1937, in Sherburne, Kentucky, to Wilson and Ciara (DeLoise) Snetz. He lived a full and hardworking life, marked by dedication to his family, his country, and his community.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for three years, carrying that sense of discipline and pride throughout his life. Jimmy went on to work as a truck driver for Stroh's Brewery Company and was a proud member of the Teamsters. After retiring from Stroh's, he continued working as an assistant manager at the turnpike service plaza truck stop gas station, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly demeanor.
On April 9, 1983, Jimmy married the love of his life, Esther Bell "Jenny" Brown. Together they shared many cherished years until her passing on November 12, 2014. Jimmy deeply loved Jenny, and one of their greatest joys was fishing together. They often traveled to Canada whenever they could, making lasting memories on the water.
Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Lodge #433 in Genoa and was a proud supporter of the local Shriners. He enjoyed listening to country music and looked forward each year to attending Hillbilly Days in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Jimmy will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love for the outdoors, and the deep devotion he had for his family and friends. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Stewart (Ronda) Treadway; his grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Treadway and Jamie (Aaron) Brown; his great-grandchildren, Abagail and Charlotte Treadway, and Connor and Landon Brown; a special friend, Pam (Mike) Ray, who was like a daughter to Jimmy; and his beloved four-legged companion, Scotty.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and loving wife, Jenny.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd., where funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. A private burial will follow for the family.
Those wishing to express their sympathy in Jimmy's memory are asked to consider a contribution to Masonic Lodge #433.
