4/23/2025 Bridget Nora Mallon - Obituaries
Bridget-Nora-Mallon

Bridget Nora Mallon
Bridget Nora Mallon, 34, was taken from this world far too soon on April 15, 2025. Bridget was an amazing daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She had a brilliant mind, a beautiful and loving heart, an independent spirit, and a gentle soul.
Bridget was born on March 13, 1991, to Pat and Marian (Keaveny) Mallon. She was joyfully welcomed by her big brothers, Sean and Brian. Bridget adored her brothers and looked up to them throughout her life. Throughout their childhood, teenage years, and into adulthood, the three siblings shared a special bond with their cousins, Eddie, Katie, and Rachel. They were a tight knit group of six and shared countless high jinks, hugs, and laughs together. Bridget also loved spending time with her large group of Mallon cousins and she added a special spark to holiday gatherings with them. She felt a special connection with her fellow "girl cousins" Alli, Molly, and Abby. She was thrilled to finally have a sister when Brian married his wife, Clarity, whom Bridget loved very much.
Bridget loved music, books, poetry, movies, comedy, concerts, and Broadway musicals. She was also a dog lover and her canine "sisters" Murphy, Riley, and Casey would leap for joy whenever Bridget returned home. She was proud of her Irish heritage and she shared a special connection with her Irish grandmother, Nora, for whom she was named. Bridget's Irish eyes were always smiling and you could hear the angels sing in the lilt of her laughter. She was known for her quick wit, which she inherited from her dad. You couldn't be with Bridget for long without hearing a clever quip or joke. Bridget had many close friendships throughout each stage of her life, beginning with her childhood neighbor and lifelong best friend, Jenny.
Bridget attended St. Catherine of Siena Elementary School and St. Ursula Academy. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and Honors Tutorial College. While at OU, Bridget met and bonded with the "castle girls." Patty, Beth, Katie, Chelsea, Katie, Jessie, and Bridget were roommates who shared the many adventures of college life together and remained close after graduation. Bridget loved them dearly.
Following college graduation, Bridget quickly made her way to the Big Apple where she achieved her childhood dream of living and working as a writer in New York City. Bridget had many fabulous adventures there, which she shared with her roommate and cousin, Rachel, and other friends including Michael, Skye, and Olivia who were living the big city dream together. Many wonderful and happy memories were made during mother-daughter weekends in the city with her mom, Rachel, and Aunt Denise. During her time in NYC, she also met another dear group of friends, the "Apartment Therapy Gals." They worked together for a time and maintained a close and lasting friendship despite moving on to other cities and jobs. During the pandemic, Bridget relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where she reconnected with old friends and, of course, formed many new friendships.
Bridget was a talented and accomplished writer, editor, editorial director, and content strategist. She worked and led editorial strategy for home sites like The Spruce, HGTV, Elle Decor, Apartment Therapy, and My Domaine. She was especially proud of successfully launching digital magazine issues on both MyDomaine and The Spruce, serving as creative director, editorial director, and project lead. For the past several years, she worked as a freelance writer and editor, most recently for Hearst Newspapers. Her writing has appeared in numerous print and digital publications including House Beautiful, Country Living, Family Circle, More, HuffPost, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Veranda, and many more.
Bridget is survived by her parents, Pat and Marian Mallon; brothers, Sean and Brian (Clarity) Mallon; aunts and uncles, Ed "Eamon" (Denise) Keaveny, Mary Ann (Dave) Borer, Tim (Cindy) Mallon, Meg (Charlie) Sears; and cousins, Eddie, Katie, and Rachel Keaveny, Dan (Sherri) Borer, Matt (Kim) Borer, Kevin (Lindsey) Mallon, Jeff (Kendra) Mallon, Joe (Jill) Mallon, Molly (Jay) Hedrick, Abby (Andy) Robillard, Alli (Matt) Epperson, and JP Sears. Bridget was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eddie (Nora) Keaveny and Joe (Mary) Mallon.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., where the Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
