Joan Eva Short
Joan Eva Short, age 81, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was born on August 1, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Raymond H. and Glenna E. (Johnson) Dodge, and was a 1964 graduate of Libbey High School.
She devoted her life to her family, representing the spirit of nurturing and care as a dedicated homemaker. Her affiliations throughout the years included: the Women of the Moose, the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and The Order of the Eastern Star Yondota #317.
She enjoyed following the music of Bob Wurst, embroidery, bingo, and solving word searches. Her greatest pleasure was always found in the moments spent with her family, where laughter and love flourished.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Tammy (James) Wiltsie and Ronald (Jodie) Short; grandchildren, Raymond Short and Amanda Wiltsie; and sisters, Linda Hartsock and Kathy Pierce.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Ronald Lee Short; and sister, Carol Ingram.
Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Joan's funeral service will take place on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the funeral home, at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, Joan will be laid to rest at Lake Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.

Terry Wymer
Terry Wymer, 66 of North Baltimore, passed away at 8:36 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 24, 1958, in Bowling Green to the late James L. Sr. and Lelia (Moberly) Wymer. He married Teresa Hennings on August 15, 1981, and she survives.
Terry is also survived by his children: Luke (Cassie) Wymer of North Baltimore, Eric (Hannah) Wymer of Findlay, and Rachel Wymer of Van Buren; his brothers: James (Nancy) Wymer, Jr. of North Baltimore and Timothy (Mona-deceased) Wymer of North Baltimore; sister, Theresa (Ned) Slaughterbeck of North Baltimore; and his beloved grandchildren: Beckett Wymer and Bexley Wymer.
He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Louise Hennings.
Terry was a proud graduate of North Baltimore High School, where he was inducted into the North Baltimore Sports Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievements in athletics. His passion for sports continued as he pursued a degree in Biology from the University of Findlay, where he graduated in 1982. During his time at UF, Terry played both baseball and football and was part of the 1979 National Championship Football Team.
In 2015, his alma mater honored him by inducting him into The University of Findlay Sports Hall of Fame, where he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. He was known not only for his athletic ability but for his commitment to improving the lives of others through sports.
Terry's career as an official began in 1984 when he started officiating high school basketball. His passion for the game soon led him to officiate NCAA Division I Men's College Basketball beginning in 1988. Over the years, he became one of the most respected officials in the country, working in prestigious conferences such as the Big Ten, Atlantic Coast, and Mid-American Conferences, and officiating in numerous NCAA tournaments, including five Final Fours and three National Championship games.
He officiated in several Big Ten Tournament Championship games and has been a fixture at the Summit League and Mid-American Conference Championships. Outside of his officiating career, Terry was a passionate entrepreneur, owning and operating TRW Cleaning Services.
Terry was currently the Executive Director of the Collegiate Officiating Consortium and Coordinator of Officials for the Big Ten and Mountain West Conferences. His professional working career also included Balfour, Coldren-Crates Funeral Homes, and Mid-Am Bank.
Terry's impact extended far beyond the basketball court, where his integrity, work ethic, and commitment to fairness inspired countless athletes, coaches, and fellow officials.
Terry's memory will live on through the many lives he touched in the sports community and beyond. His legacy as an outstanding athlete, official, and community member will forever be cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church, North Baltimore. Father Art Niewiadomski Celebrant.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday October 22, 2025, at Smith-Crates Funeral Home, North Baltimore.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, North Baltimore and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Robert Fulton
Robert H. Fulton, 96, of Toledo, OH, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at home while under hospice care. Robert was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, January 27, 1929, to parents Albert and Martha (Hurst) Fulton.
Bob graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Pharmacy and was proud to have been a pitcher for the OSU Varsity Baseball Team. After graduation, he served with the United States Army and was deployed to Korea for 2 years. He worked in a M*A*S*H Unit there and thoroughly enjoyed the television program M*A*S*H when it hit the airwaves in the 70's. Robert earned a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences degree from the University of Toledo in 1979.
After returning from Korea, Bob worked as a pharmacist, spending most of his career at what is now UTMC, where he served as Director of Pharmacy. Bob earned a private pilot's license and shared ownership in a small plane for many years. He loved the game of golf and played well into his 95th year. Bob was a long-time, active member of the Boulevard Christian Church, where he served as an Elder for many years.
He is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Fulton-Arnsby (John) and Jennifer Fulton; grandchildren, Samuel Arnsby (Margaret), Benjamin Arnsby, Leah Lombardi (Conner), Christina Styblo, Kimberly Styblo; dear friend, Caroline Wolfe; and an army of friends that will miss his presence in their lives. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of more than 62 years, Marilynn K. Fulton; brother, James Fulton; and sister, Marian Hatfield.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care during the difficult time. Those wishing to offer memorials are asked to consider, in lieu of flowers, the Boulevard Christian Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, or the charity of their choice.
Family and friends are invited to attend memorial services Saturday, October 25, at 10:00 a.m., at the Boulevard Christian Church, 7041 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, Ohio.
The world is a better place because Bob was in it. He will be missed!

A graveside service has been set for Lorene Swearengen who passed away on December 14, 2016, in Owatonna, Minnesota. It will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Restlawn Memorial Park, 3665 Genoa Road, Perrysburg, OH 43551. In the event of rain it will be held in the chapel. There will be a luncheon afterwards at 2111 Shoreland Ave., Toledo, OH 43611.
