Allen Davis
10/20/1946 - 08/02/2026
Allen Craig Davis, 79, passed away on Sunday evening August 2, following a long battle with dementia. He passed peacefully while he was surrounded by his loving family. Allen is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Carolyn Jo (Austin) Davis; his sons, Shawn (Luciana) Davis and Andrew Davis; and his grandchildren, Jefferson Austin Davis and Stella Lara Davis. He is also survived by his brother, Gail (Anna); as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A 1964 graduate of Whitmer High School, Allen was called to serve his country when he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and was stationed in Da Nang for the duration of his enlistment. Following his military service, Allen began his career at Champion Spark Plug before transitioning to Acklin Stamping, then on to Daimler Chrysler Perrysburg before retiring in 2007. In retirement, Allen and Carolyn, both avid golfers, enjoyed spending winters as snowbirds in Myrtle Beach. Allen could often be found on the many beautiful courses throughout the Grand Strand. Whether playing with friends or simply enjoying time on the course, golf brought him great joy and many long lasting friendships throughout the years. Above all, Allen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, impressive work ethic, love of family, and the many meaningful memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who provided love, support, and compassion throughout Allen's difficult journey with dementia. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, August 7th, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Toledo Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 4930 Flanders Rd. After visitation there will be a brief service at 12:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon in the basement.
