6/24/2026 Mary Jane (Lewandowski) Ronau

Mary Jane (Lewandowski) Ronau
Mary Jane Ronau passed at the age of 98 with her family by her side on June 21, 2026. She was born March 22, 1928, to the late Joseph and Angeline (Szymanski) Lewandowski, from LaGrinka (Toledo Polish neighborhood). She was a 1946 graduate from Woodward High School (Go Polar Bears).
Mary Jane married Edward Ronau on August 28, 1948. They were married for 67 years. They built their family home in Maumee, Ohio, where they raised five children. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked at S.S. Kresge's in downtown Toledo. Mary Jane resided in her home for 76 years.
Mary Jane was 100% Polish and loved her heritage. She always enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. Since the '70s, she rarely missed an episode of The Young and the Restless, and she would never miss her favorite movie, The Sound of Music, when it was televised. Traveling with Ed and working on Word Search books were some of her favorite activities. Plus, she would never pass up anyone willing to play cards (crazy eights and rummy).
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, John; daughter, Joyce; son-in-law, Terry Kroeger; brothers, Alvin (Veronica), Joseph (Evelyn) and Raymond. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Kroeger and Patricia (Dave) Cramer; son, David (Jeanna); grandchildren, Edward Ronau, Megan (Dan) Fowler, and Miranda Cramer; great-granddaughter, Audrey Fowler; sister-in-law, Sue Lewandowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, Ohio 43537. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Care360, her personal home care caregivers, and her neighbor, Bruce, for all his visits. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or Hospice Care360, in Mary Jane's memory. Condolences can be shared at
