Michael David Barth
Michael David Barth, age 50, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Ebeid Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 1, 1976, in Toledo, OH, to David and Michele (Marshall) Barth. Michael attended Regina Coeli and Shoreland grade schools, was a graduate of Whitmer High School, "Class of '95", and studied golf course maintenance at Owens Community College. He was employed as a greenskeeper at Detwiler golf course and Tamaron Country Club until its' closing. He later worked 14 years as a parts inspector for Norplas Industries.
Michael faced many health challenges throughout his life, including leukemia at age 2 ½ and a bone marrow transplant at age 5. Despite these hardships, he became a strong athlete and devoted sports fan, taking part in nearly every sport. He remained an enthusiastic fan of the Walleyes, the Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State. A loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, he set an example of courage and resilience to those around him. He was a former parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, David Barth. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Michele and Robert Helminski; siblings, Nicole Barth and Gary Helminski; nieces and nephews, Nick Barth, Mikayla Barth, Graydee Helminski, Talitha Helminski, and Josiah Helminski; and aunts, Pam Kolebuck and Nancy Helminski.
Visitation will be Friday, from 10:00-11:30 a.m., at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., Toledo, OH 43612. Funeral services will begin Friday, at 11:30 a.m., in the funeral home, and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church, at 12:00 p.m.
An additional celebration of Michael's life will be held on Sunday, July 26, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., at Bedford Hills Golf Club, in Temperance, MI. Those attending are invited to wear a T-shirt honoring one of Michael's favorite teams.
